Redeemer BINGO

original?tenant=vbu-digital

The Redeemer Bingo was set up in 1978 by the men and women of the community to finance the recently built Redeemer Family Resource Centre. The first administrator was Father Owen Sweeney who got the building up and running. Paddy McManus was asked to come on board with the Bingo in 1980 and has been with the Bingo to this day. The Bingo was a major part of the community at that time before the Lotto and scratch cards began. We have an average of 130 to 140 people who attend the Bingo every Monday night at 8pm. The Bingo is a fantastic social event and is something that the Centre is very proud of. The Redeemer Lotto draw takes place at the Bingo, in addition to other groups such as local football clubs and the Order of Malta who also raise money for a good cause. The profits from the Redeemer Bingo are used to pay for our annual senior citizens party, reinvesting back into the parish, a small payment is made to the Centre itself while donations are also made to good causes. The Bingo is audited by Michael McArdle of Ard Easmuinn. There is a fantastic group of volunteers who keep the Bingo running on a weekly basis and without those volunteers it would not be possible. The facebook account is managed by Emma, one of our volunteers, with a facebook quiz which awards one free nights Bingo, worth €11 to the winner. The Redeemer Bingo is a credit to the volunteers and the people who organize and run this event, without their hard work and dedication none of this would be possible. We hope to see you all every Monday night at 8pm.
